1. Department Overview
The Department of Peace NGO Studies is grounded in the founding ideals of Love for Heaven (Aetian), Love for Humanity (Aein), and Love for the Nation (Aeguk), as well as the peace ideology of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification.
The department conducts research and provides education in academic theories and methodologies related to glocal (global + local) non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Its mission is to cultivate peace governance leaders who contribute to the establishment and realization of Cheon Il Guk, the Heavenly Nation of eternal peace.

1) Common Required Courses
Course Name Description Introduction to True Parents Studies This course explores the question, “Who are the True Parents?”—a central theme for all people living in the Cheon Il Guk era. Through systematic theological discussions, students establish the academic value of True Parents and study the theory and reality of Cheon Il Guk to gain an integrated understanding of True Parents. Introduction to Peace NGO Studies This course examines the roles and responsibilities of governments and citizens—including faith-based groups—in building peaceful and just societies.
It emphasizes responsible partnerships and social accountability within NGOs that contribute to a God-centered society of coexistence and mutual prosperity. -
2) Major Required Courses
Course Name Description Founder’s Peace NGO Thought This course explores the Founder’s vision of peace and NGO engagement. God created all things to establish a world of love and peace—not conflict. Based on this principle, the returning Messiah, the True Parents, established the Peace NGO ideology as a foundation for lasting peace. Students study the teachings of True Parents and analyze the historical development of civil society and civic consciousness. Peace NGO Mission Strategy This course examines how Peace NGOs—founded by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon as co-founders of the Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community—can contribute to the substantial realization of Cheon Il Guk. Missionary strategies from both Christian and Family Federation perspectives are explored. -
