Department of True Parents Theology

1. Department Overview

The Department of True Parents Theology is dedicated to the systematic study and scholarly propagation of the divine principles of the Heavenly Parent, and the words, teachings, life, achievements, status, and values of the True Parents, Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who came as the Messiah and Savior of humankind. The department’s goal is to nurture leaders endowed with the spirituality of the True Parents.

To that end, the curriculum focuses on three core dimensions:

1. Empathetic Education – enabling students to experience and internalize the hearts of the True Parents.

2. Philosophical Education – deepening understanding of the teachings and ideology of the True Parents.

3. Practical Education – equipping students to implement the will of the True Parents in pastoral and mission contexts, thereby contributing to the realization of Cheon Il Guk (Heavenly Nation).

    Course Name Description
    Introduction to True Parents Studies “Who are True Parents?”
    This question is providentially given to all people living in the Cheon Il Guk era.
    Through diverse systematic theological discourses, students establish an academic foundation for understanding the value of True Parents and explore both the theory and reality of Cheon Il Guk, seeking an integrated comprehension of True Parents’ significance.
    Introduction to Peace NGO Studies Throughout history, the cooperative roles of governments and citizens—including people of faith—have been essential in building peaceful and just societies.
    This course examines the legal responsibilities and moral accountability of NGOs and emphasizes socially responsible partnerships that lead toward a God-centered society of mutual prosperity and interdependence.

    True Parents Spirituality Introduction to True Parents Spirituality Examines the general concepts, methodologies, and domains of spirituality, with a focus on the core spirituality of True Parents. Students study spiritual growth, daily spiritual practice, and the theological meaning of spirituality in realizing Cheon Il Guk.
    Theology True Parents Systematic Theology Systematically organizes the words and thought of True Parents within the framework of systematic theology, offering a comprehensive understanding of True Parents Theology. The course develops the ability to interpret Christian theological themes from a True Parents perspective and conduct research within a coherent theological structure.
    Pastoral Studies Cheon Il Guk Pastoral Theology Establishes the church’s mission and functions based on the words and ministry of True Parents. The course defines the calling and responsibilities of pastors in the Cheon Il Guk era, fostering sound church leadership and governance grounded in True Parents’ vision for the realization of the Heavenly Nation.
